Aguas Esperanza Presents Its 2025 Sustainability Report Reaffirming Its Socio-Environmental and Regulatory
Commitment

The company releases its first management report under the GRI international standard, highlighting seawater pumping to protect continental water resources, strict compliance with current regulations and the strengthening of dialogue with communities and stakeholders.

Santiago, Chile. Aguas Esperanza formally presents its 2025 Sustainability Report, a corporate milestone that establishes sustainability as an essential principle for the development of its water infrastructure business in the long term.

In the face of the challenge posed by structural drought in northern Chile, the company promotes an operational model focused on the generation and transport of seawater for industrial processes, directly and significantly reducing the pressure on continental freshwater sources.

During the 2025 period, the organization completed one year of continuous operation of the SIAM I system and moved forward with the construction of SIAM II, deploying more than 3,000 workers across a 144-kilometer project. This deployment was executed with high safety and environmental control standards, operating under stringent regulatory frameworks and guaranteeing strict compliance with current regulations and its commitments to the authorities.

The drafting of this first report under the GRI 2021 standard entailed cross-cutting work that allowed integrating the management of the various areas of the company under a common and systematic approach through which the company seeks to disclose its socio-environmental and operational performance, reaffirming its commitment to building relationships of trust and maintaining an ongoing dialogue with local communities, authorities, collaborators and other stakeholders.

This way, Aguas Esperanza projects its operations by consolidating its seawater supply model as a structural and sustainable solution for mining in northern Chile.

“We look to the future with the conviction to continue operating our systems with high environmental, social and operational standards, making sure that our contribution to the region’s water security is measurable, verifiable and sustainable over time,” stated Francisco Rodríguez, CEO of Aguas Esperanza.

In turn, Juan Carlos Jofré, Sustainability Manager of the company, declared that “this report shows that sustainability is incorporated into our processes in a structural manner, consolidating itself as a strategic component of the long-term viability and legitimacy of the business”.
