The operation

Non-desalinated saltwater supply

Aguas Esperanza owns, operates, and maintains the two Seawater Pumping Systems (SIAM) that supply Antofagasta Minerals’ operations from the Michilla area in the Antofagasta Region.

SIAM I

The first system, existing since 2010, was acquired by Aguas Esperanza in early 2024 and has been operated by our company since then. It supplies non-desalinated saltwater to 100% of the Centinela and Antucoya mining operations.

SIAM 2

SIAM II

This second system was built by Aguas Esperanza during the first two years of the contract
starting in 2024, and today, as of March 2026, it adds 56,000 m³/day to the transport capacity.
Combined with the 100,000 m³/day already operated by SIAM I, it will supply the water
required for the expansion of the operation with its Nueva Centinela project.
