During the ACADES Congress 2026, the Chilean Association for Desalination and Reuse recognized Aguas Esperanza during the traditional “Water Dinner” for its strategic value in seawater piping for Minera Centinela of Antofagasta Minerals.
April, 2026. The event brought together authorities, trade associations and leaders of the water and mining industry to address the country’s challenges in water resilience and sustainable development. In this context, a special recognition was awarded to Aguas Esperanza —a consortium formed by Transelec and Almar Water Solutions— for its leadership in the development and operation of critical water infrastructure in the north of the country.
The honor highlights the management of the SIAM I pumping system and the implementation of its second stage, SIAM II, a pipeline of more than 140 kilometers that expands the water supply for Minera Centinela, consolidating a long-term sustainable solution for mining in the Antofagasta Region.
“This recognition from ACADES fills us with pride and reaffirms the value of the work we carry out at Aguas Esperanza along with our partners. The SIAM I project represents our conviction that it is possible to deliver robust, sustainable and innovative water solutions to support the development of mining in northern Chile and tangibly contribute to the country’s water security,” said Francisco Rodríguez, CEO of Aguas Esperanza, upon receiving the award.
Today, desalination and seawater transport are positioned as structural solutions to water scarcity, mainly for mining but also increasingly for other industries and human consumption.
In this scenario, the recognition reaffirms Aguas Esperanza’s commitment to operational innovation, sustainability and water security, consolidating its role as a strategic partner for Chile’s economic and social development.
